Dave Duval is responsible for financial management of Castile's funds and participates in the final approval and structuring of all investments. He also leads investor relations activities and plays a key role in the strategic planning for Castile Ventures.
Before joining Castile in 2002, Mr. Duval was a managing director of the Volpe Brown Whelan investment bank where he co-founded and managed Volpe Brown Whelan Asset Management, LLC and its highly-successful venture affiliate, Bedrock Capital Partners. As a founder and general partner of Bedrock Capital Partners and as a former CFO/Partner of Highland Capital Partners, Mr. Duval has far-reaching experience in managing investment funds supplemented by an extensive operating background in public and private companies.
Before entering the venture community in 1992, Mr. Duval spent more than 15 years in financial and operations management culminating at MED-TAC Corporation where he was executive vice president with responsibility for more than $100 million in annual gross receipts and approximately 80 employees. Earlier in his career he worked with New England Nuclear Corporation and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Duval holds a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and an MBA from Babson College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute.
Dave serves on the Trustees Advisory Council at Fairfield University, the Advisory Board of The Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments & Finance at Babson College, and on various committees at Thayer Academy. He previously served as a faculty advisor for the Babson Entrepreneurial Finance Group and has spoken at several colleges on finance and investment topics. An avid golfer, Dave also serves as the treasurer of Charles River Country Club.
